Altitude & Weather
Aspen is approximately 8,000 ft. This mountain air is thin and dry so make like a local and hydrate lots, even a few days before arriving to Colorado! Altitude headaches and sickness can happen to even the seasoned Aspenite. And consider yourself warned: at altitude your drinks will go far, and your hangover even farther.
The Colorado saying goes: "if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes." Weather in the Rocky Mountains can vary significantly. The average temperature during the day in September is in the high 60’s, low 70’s°F, although temperatures are much cooler during the evening. The occasional shower can occur at any time, sometimes turning into thunderstorms, but these do not last long.
